Hello!
I'm giving an eye (pupil) tutorial
so I'll explain as the best as I can
#1 - here's the layout of the basic eye I did on
a 150x150 size canvas
I did the linework on layer, colored it, and did all
the shading/details on layer #1
|
#2
- now doing the pupil. It really depends on the SIZE
OF THE EYE you are doing so Zoom in by using '+' by
the bottom scroll bar: select layer #0, select the eye
color, Solid Oval option, and place it on the eye. Make
sure it's the certain size that goes WELL with the eye. |
#3
- Select dark, adjust opacity level up between 210-230,
select pixel size between 12-15 (again, it depends on
the size of the eye you are doing. The larger the eye,
larger the pixel gets), place the cursor on the middle
of the pupil and make circular motions.
|
#4
- using the same settings (only decrease the size of
the pixel), darken the edges of the pupil. |
#5
- decrease the pixel size again and make lines from
the edge towards the center. Do it several times around
the pupil. |
#6
- Select Highlight, adjust opacity level up between
150-170, select pixel size between 12-18 (repeat: it
depends on the size of the eye you are doing. The larger
the eye, larger the pixel gets), make circular motions
around the iris (the middle of the pupil) once or twice.
|
#7
- keep the settings but decrease the pixel size between
2-3 and make lines from the iris towards the edge. Do
it few times around the pupil. |
#8
- select watercolor, adjust opacity level between
235-245, pixel size between 1-3, and 'soften' the
edges of the pupil.
|
#9
- Now the REFLECTION spots! yay!
stay with watercolor, adjust the opacity level between
200-215, pixel size between 10-13, and make circular
motions until you are satisfied with the size you
want. (and if you wish, you can make the pixel smaller
and make a second reflection spot next to the large
one)
|
#10
- Now the shine: decrease the pixel size, increase
the opacity level a little bit, and make one curving
stroke anywhere on the iris!
|
final
- Zoom in (using the '-' on the scrollbar) and you'll
see the final results of the eye.
Important note: practice practice practice... don't
give up!
